College hosts 3 local events to showcase our Curriculum and Support Services

Our College took the Curriculum outside the Campus this New Year hosting 3 fantastic Choose your Career events in local venues. The events which took place in January and February in Paisley Lagoon, Clydebank Town Hall and Greenock Town Hall showcased a wide range of College activities to the public with an exciting line up of demonstrations from Physics experiments to Fitness Classes!

Over 600 people were in attendance from schools and the general public across the 3 events. The attendees were welcomed with overwhelming enthusiasm from staff and students across all 3 campuses pulling out all the stops to showcase our College.

Attendees got to try out culinary delights from our Professional Cookery department, be pampered by our Hairdressing, Beauty & Makeup Artistry teams and be entertained by our talented musicians, dancers and DJ’s from Creative Industries to mention just a few.

Local industry partners also supported the events giving advice on career paths within their organisations and offering actual employment opportunities including apprenticeships and work placements. We were delighted to welcome support from SDS, Thermofisher, BAE Systems, Mad Dog 2020 Casting Agency, the British Army, Hair & Beauty World, Babcock, Ferguson Marine and Moving On Inverclyde amongst others.

Assistant Principal Learning and Teaching, Angela Pignatelli said of the events,

“We are so proud of the series of three Choose Your Career Days which took place across the Regions we serve. We saw more than 600 people attend these important Learning and Teaching events. This important initiative is a radical shift in reaching out to our local communities, our schools and our employers to encourage and support prospective students in choosing their correct path in Education.”

She continued, “This series of hands-on practical demonstrations of what the College offers, and the chance to try before you buy, made for high energy events where the engagement was palpable! Sincere thanks to all our Industry partners for their engagement in the day. Thanks also to our internal staff who have delivered with such enthusiasm and drive.”

Thank you to all who contributed to making these events a success and to everyone who came along!
