Last month, West Colleges Scotland’s Motor Vehicle department at the Clydebank campus were delighted to donate £417.20 to the St Margaret of Scotland Hospice.

Geared Up For Charity

Over twenty of the Level 2 Motor Vehicle students donned their wellies and sponges and got to work to clean just shy of 100 cars for Clydebank’s much loved hospice.

Alistair Fleming Curriculum and Quality Leader for Automotive Engineering said:

The students worked really hard to get all the cars done. They were all immaculate and everyone was impressed by the speedy service and professionalism. Many of our students have had a relative who has been admitted to St Margaret’s so it means a lot to them to be able to help raise money for the hospice.

Rece Johnston, 21 from Clydebank said: "‘We got loads of cars in and we were pleased with the amount we raised in the end. We enjoyed the fundraiser and managed to stay partly dry!"

This is the sixth consecutive year that the department has done the annual car wash for St Margaret’s and in this period it’s estimated that the department alone has raised nearly £5000.

St Margaret’s acting Fundraising Manager William Seenan said:

On behalf of the hospice we’d like to the thanks the students for their efforts in raising such a  great amount.
