As part of Can Do Towns’ Place Matters challenge, our Paisley Campus HNC Interior Design students have started thinking about innovative enterprise places which could make the future of Renfrewshire’s largest town.

Ideas were flowing yesterday during the first debrief session led by Iain Scott from Can Do Towns. Students came up with some very creative projects to cleverly occupy space – such as building a Pagoda on Paisley’s County Square. Their concept would provide people with a place to relax, meet & greet while having an unobstructed view on the beautiful historical settings. The Pagoda’s design, a blend of Asian and Scottish styles, would echo back to the Paisley Pattern known to have some eastern origins.

The challenge as just started – so, stay tuned!

Place Matters is a challenge, driven by Can Do Towns in partnership with West College Scotland, for students and staff to visualise the future of their towns as enterprising places and generate images of what these could look like.
