Counselling: An Introduction
Course Overview
What will I learn?
This course provides learners with an introduction to counselling, including the aims and purpose of counselling and the counselling process. Learners will gain knowledge and understanding of various counselling approaches, core counselling skills and application of those skills.
There are four outcomes including a practical application of counselling skills and self reflection. This is an excellent foundation course for those who wish to learn more about counselling before progressing to further study. On completion of the course, learners should be able to apply counselling skills successfully in order to support others. This is an fantastic course in terms of enhancing communication skills and employability.
What qualifications do I need?
On completion of this course, learners may wish to consider continued study within counselling at HNC/HND level with possible articulation to university.
What can I do after?
You can progress onto the Counselling Theory for Practice: An Introduction course which may lead to a career in counselling or care work.
