With Scottish Apprenticeship Week activities all taking a slightly different format this year, West College Scotland was delighted to welcome Jamie Hepburn, Minister for Business, Fair Work and Skills to speak to our Renfrewshire Council Foundation Apprenticeship Business Skills cohort.

This week is Scottish Apprentice Week and the College will be celebrating the diversity that that makes work-based learning good for individuals, employers and the economy.

The Young Person’s Guarantee was launched in November 2020 to protect young people from the economic impact of COVID-19. To support this, the College has created a range of short duration online Skills Boost courses to allow young people to upskill for specific industry sectors.

As part of the Critical Engineer initiative, West College Scotland was delighted to host ‘Change through the Lens of Covid’ an online event today, which saw SMEs from across Scotland come together for an interactive session, designed to prepare them for Scotland’s Advancing Manufacturing future.
