West College Scotland has donated £3,000 worth of hand-sanitiser to a local Health and Social Care team to help them through the Coronavirus emergency.

WCS to close all campuses on Friday 20 March

Following the announcements by the UK and Scottish Governments, West College Scotland will be suspending all face-to face teaching by Friday 20 March.  If you have been advised to work from home by your lecturers, then you should do so. Your lecturers will provide further curriculum advice and support.

West College Scotland has been getting its Modern Apprentices valuable experience they wouldn't find elsewhere - through their very own Motorsport Academy.

Charlene McManus is a graduate of West College Scotland who is now running her own business. Charlotte completed a Modern Apprenticeship with the College and learned to ply her trade through a combination of classroom-based learning as well as gaining practical experience by working in industry.

The Scottish Government acknowledges that an enthusiastic and trained workforce underpins Scotland's ambition for economic success. Modern Apprenticeships support this goal by providing individuals with the opportunity to secure industry recognised qualifications while earning a wage.

WEST College Scotland is delighted to welcome Dr Waiyin Hatton to her new position as Chair of the Board of the College. Principal and Chief Executive of West College Scotland, Liz Connolly, commented, “I am personally delighted with this news. Heather Wilson believes she can set sail on a Royal Navy Career thanks to her Foundation Apprenticeship. The 17-year-old has attended the Greenock Sea Cadets for six years and would love to take this one step further by becoming a Royal Navy Engineer.
