Charlene McManus is a graduate of West College Scotland who is now running her own business. Charlotte completed a Modern Apprenticeship with the College and learned to ply her trade through a combination of classroom-based learning as well as gaining practical experience by working in industry.

WEST College Scotland is delighted to welcome Dr Waiyin Hatton to her new position as Chair of the Board of the College. Heather Wilson believes she can set sail on a Royal Navy Career thanks to her Foundation Apprenticeship. The 17-year-old has attended the Greenock Sea Cadets for six years and would love to take this one step further by becoming a Royal Navy Engineer.

To build on the progress of the MA programme, a new strand of the apprenticeship family has been developed. Foundation Apprenticeships: Bringing education closer to industry. Foundation Apprenticeships give school pupils a taste of the world of work and help employers shape future talent.

Scottish Apprentice Week 2020 will celebrate the diversity that that makes work-based learning good for individuals, employers and the economy. Developed as an initiative by Skills Development Scotland, the week will take place 2-6 March, underpinned by the theme of ‘Talent Without Limits’.
