A world-leading company is offering ambitious young people a life-shaping chance to succeed in engineering and science as part of its team in North Ayrshire.

DSM, a global player in Nutrition, Health and Sustainable Living, is recruiting for the latest wave of its renowned modern apprenticeship (MA) programmes at DSM Nutritional Products site in Dalry.

The schemes are widely recognised as a superb launchpad for those seeking careers in the science, technology and engineering sector. Applications are open for the next four weeks and those interested in realising their potential are being urged to come forward.

Spaces on the innovative apprenticeship programmes are highly sought after with DSM Nutritional Products, one of the region’s most prominent companies, employing approximately 340 people at Dalry where the site has been in operation since 1958.

DSM has vacancies on its three-year Process Operations MA programme for those interested in pursuing a career in process operations and manufacturing. Apprentices will need to pass a level 3 SVQ in Process Manufacturing together with City and Guilds Chemical Process Operations (level 2 and 3), which will be delivered by West College Scotland.

There is also opportunities within its laboratories for those interested in pursuing a career in laboratory science, learning various analytical testing techniques. Apprentices will be expected to complete a SVQ in Laboratory & Associated Technical tasks together with an HNC in Applied Science.

The site has a further vacancy on its four-year MA programme in engineering maintenance relating to instrumentation, control and electrical engineering. Apprentices will complete the SVQ Engineering Maintenance (Instrumentation and Control) and (Electrical) together with HNCs in electrical engineering and measurement and control.

Training for each of these programmes will be delivered by West College Scotland..

Apprentices already training have appreciated the opportunities they have been given.

Ronan Allan, 21, of Irvine, has just completed his modern apprenticeship, taking up a full time position working as part of the Vitamin B5 process operations team.
