My name is Freshta Qaderi, and I am currently studying Access to Business Administration at Paisley Campus. I am proud to be serving my second year as Student President, representing Greenock Finnart and Waterfront campuses.

Originally from Afghanistan, I moved to the UK in January 2024. I hold a degree in Business Administration and have nearly nine years of banking experience. Alongside my studies, I work part-time as a Women's Group Resettlement Officer with Glasgow Afghan United, supporting women from different backgrounds.

Since becoming Student President in July 2025, I have worked closely with students and college leaders to improve the student experience. I am proud to have supported the return of free breakfasts, organised the first Multicultural Day and promoted student wellbeing and inclusion.

I am also honoured to be a finalist for two prestigious awards in 2026: the CDN Awards and The Herald Higher Education Awards.

My aim is to continue listening to students, supporting their needs and making positive changes.
