*At our Greeock campus you will have the have the opportunity to study the new Criminology units at this level which include; the history and development of criminology, definition and measurement of crime and additional topics could include victimology, policing and criminal justice, state and/or cyber crime. This is an exciting opportunity to study an ever-growing subject area which leads to various degrees in this field.
What qualifications do I need?
You will need at least 2 Highers (One B and one C) one must be Higher English and the other preferably in a social subject or NC Social Sciences L6 Group Award . For a place on this course, you will need to attend an interview where you may be asked to submit a short piece of written work.
For mature students, credit may be given for life experience in lieu of formal qualifications at interview.
Paisley Campus offers a 1-year HNC Social Science course designed in agreement with the University of Glasgow to allow successful candidates direct entry to year 2 of specific degree programmes within Glasgow University College of Social Sciences.

What can I do after?
Following successful completion of the course, you could develop your skills even further by progressing to another course, such as:
- HND Social Sciences
- Social Sciences and Arts Degrees
- 1st and 2nd year of various Social Science and Arts Degrees at University. Year of entry depends upon both the degree applied for and the University.
