Graduates after L6/7 have successfully entered roles in leading salons as well as starting their own businesses or freelance stylists. You will acquire the skills to not only establish yourself as a qualified stylist but also excel in the industry with business knowledge and social media expertise.
What will I learn?
The Intermediate Level 4 hairdressing Jan start is a comprehensive short full time course that allows you to gain foundational skills required for the first year of hairdressing. Intensive basic cutting will be the focus of delivery programme within the course. Salon placement will be a mandatory 1 day a week alongside your college course which will allow you to develop skills in the work placement, giving an insight in to how Salons operate and the role of the salon junior.
Successful candidates can move directly to Level 5 full time to expand their basic knowledge and skills to a higher level.
You'll learn about:
- Blow drying and finishing
- Introduction to Hair cutting
- Introduction to Colouring Services
- Introduction to Barbering
- Prepare and assist
- Work Placement
- Pre service testing
What qualifications do I need?
You can progress from successful completion of Transition 2 Hairdressing course August start or if you have no formal qualification a successful informal interview will be required before a place is offered on the course. Your passion, creativity, vision and willingness to learn about this industry will help you to gain a place on this course.
What can I do after?
After successfully completing the course, you will be able to apply for a job as a salon assistant
Or you could develop your skills further by studying another course, such as:
NC Hairdressing (Level 5)
SVQ L2 MA Modern Apprenticeship Programme may be considered

Duration: 16 hours per week for 16 Weeks 2.5 days
