Fast Track to HNC Computing – January Start

What will I learn?

Start in January and take your next step towards HNC study in computing. Whether you’re leaving school, considering a career change or ready to build on your interest in technology, this six-month course gives you practical experience and helps you discover which area of computing suits you.

You’ll learn through hands-on activities across programming, digital forensics, digital media, networking and artificial intelligence. From creating applications and animations to investigating digital evidence, you’ll develop skills you can put into practice.

What qualifications do I need?

You’ll need three National 5 qualifications, or three equivalent Level 5 qualifications, including English and Numeracy.

If you don’t have formal qualifications but can demonstrate relevant computing knowledge and skills, we’d still like to hear from you. You’ll be invited to an interview to discuss your experience and whether the course is right for you.

What can I do after?

Successful completion prepares you to apply for an HNC in areas such as Cyber Security, Networking, Software Development or Computer Games Development, subject to the entry requirements of your chosen course.

You don’t need to have your whole career planned—bring your interest in computing and start building your next step.
