West College Scotland is launching the search for a new Chair to succeed Keith McKellar, who is standing down next February after completing six in years in the job. Keith took up the position shortly after the College was created in 2013 through the merger of Clydebank College, James Watt College’s Greenock campuses and Paisley’s Reid Kerr College. The Scottish Government has now started the process of finding a new Chair and applications will remain open until mid-December 2019.

“I would encourage as many people as possible to consider applying for this tremendously satisfying role.

“West College Scotland is an established regional leader, working at the very heart of an important network of local and national organisations. We have made a big difference in developing the skills students need to enhance their life chances, to help build a sustainable economy and contribute to social cohesion.

“My successor will be working with an excellent Principal and Senior Management Team, supported by dedicated teaching and support staff.”

College Principal, Liz Connolly, said:

“The position of Chair of the Board of Management is a vital to the future direction of our College and to developing the educational landscape of the west of Scotland.

“Ours is an innovative, forward-thinking College with a creative Board of Management and outstanding teams across all our campuses.  Together, we are ambitious for the future of West College Scotland and our students.”
