Course Overview:

This course introduces Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to Microsoft Power BI, a powerful business analytics tool. Learners will explore how to collect, visualize, and analyse business data to make informed decisions. Through hands-on practice, participants will learn to create dashboards, build reports, and connect data sources relevant to their organization. No prior experience with Power BI is required.

Outline of the Course Content:

  • Getting Started with Power BI – Introduction to the interface, key concepts, and Power BI ecosystem
  • Connecting to Data Sources – Importing data from Excel, databases, and online services
  • Data Cleaning and Transformation – Using Power Query to shape and clean data
  • Creating Visualizations – Building charts, maps, and KPIs to tell a data story
  • Building Interactive Dashboards – Designing user-friendly and dynamic dashboards
  • Publishing and Sharing Reports – Sharing insights with your team and stakeholders via Power BI Service
  • Basic DAX for SMEs – Introduction to Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for simple calculations
  • Practical Case Study – Building a complete dashboard from SME-relevant data
