West College Scotland Unveils Student-Designed White Ribbon Campaign Logo

West College Scotland is proud to be working towards achieving White Ribbon Status, a prestigious recognition presented to organisations that demonstrate a sustained commitment to engaging men in preventing violence against women and girls.

Awarded by White Ribbon Scotland, the status recognises the College’s dedication to creating a safe, inclusive environment where students and staff can thrive, alongside its commitment to educational campaigns encouraging men to pledge never to commit, condone, or remain silent about violence against women.

As part of the initiative, White Ribbon Scotland invited organisations to design their own logo. The College teamed up with HNC Graphic Design with Illustration students at the Clydebank campus, setting them a real-life client brief to create a college-specific logo that retained the iconic white ribbon and blue background, while reflecting the identity of its Clydebank, Paisley and Greenock campuses—showcasing the fantastic creative talent we have in-house and helping raise awareness of the campaign.

A judging panel including representatives from White Ribbon Scotland and the College shortlisted entries before a final student vote. The winning design was created by Daria Senyshyna, with Eric Dowds and Kasia Pierzchala taking second and third place respectively.

Daria’s design was praised for its strong visual identity and symbolism. Judges highlighted the defined flow of the ribbon, the integration of college colours, and the use of shape to represent both feminine and masculine elements—reflecting the shared responsibility of ending violence against women and girls.

West College Scotland’s White Ribbon Status will reinforce its pledge to foster a culture of respect and equality, ensuring its campuses remain safe and supportive spaces for all.
