West College Scotland’s Festive Season of Community Giving

This Christmas period, West College Scotland came together across its Paisley, Clydebank and Greenock campuses to support communities through a shared season of giving.

Students and staff took part in a variety of festive activities, including fundraising events, donation drives and community-focused initiatives. These collective efforts supported a range of local and national organisations, including Who Cares? Scotland, Macmillan Cancer Support, Children’s Hospital Pyjamas, Time to Help UK, Mind Mosaic Children and Family, Drumchapel Food Bank, and The Underheugh Ark.

Campuses were filled with festive spirit as learners organised and participated in Christmas fayres, themed fundraising days, food and gift collections, raffles, sponsored activities and creative events. Every initiative was driven by a desire to make a positive difference and support those who may be facing challenges at this time of year.

Learners from across the College played a central role in leading and supporting activities, gaining valuable real-world experience while strengthening their connection to the communities they live and learn in. Working alongside staff, they demonstrated empathy, teamwork and social responsibility, values that sit at the heart of West College Scotland.

By collaborating across all campuses, the College community supported a wide range of causes, including health and wellbeing, children and family services, food security and animal welfare. Whether through donating time, resources or funds, every contribution helped to create a lasting impact.

West College Scotland is incredibly proud of its students and staff and would like to thank everyone who took part. Together, these efforts highlight the power of community and the difference that can be made when people come together with a shared purpose.

We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for the compassion, generosity and commitment they have shown throughout the festive season. These initiatives reflect the values of West College Scotland and demonstrate how our College community comes together to support others. The impact goes far beyond fundraising, it’s about empathy, teamwork and making a real difference in the communities we serve.
