Over two weeks, West College Scotland was proud to host four graduation ceremonies celebrating the achievements of more than 400 graduates from across our communities. Joined by families, friends, staff and partners, the ceremonies recognised not only academic success but also the determination, resilience and ambition that have shaped each graduate's journey.
Alongside celebrating our graduates, we were delighted to recognise a number of outstanding prize-winners, including recipients of the Student of the Year Award, Darren Walls, the Chair's Award, Zander Paterson, the HMS Hood Award, Toby Craven and the prestigious College Fellow honour to Dr Linsay McCallum. These awards recognise individuals who have gone above and beyond, demonstrating excellence, commitment and a passion for making a positive difference.
Throughout the celebrations, we heard inspiring stories of graduates who are already making an impact in their industries and communities. From former CECA Scotland Academy student Brandon Kerr, who is helping to build the infrastructure of the future as a Groundworker with Luddon Construction, to Nicole Easton, whose work as a Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician has helped raise awareness of sepsis and antimicrobial resistance, our graduates are already making a difference. We also celebrated the success of Nicole Young, a former Make-up Artistry student who has enjoyed national recognition within the beauty industry.
