Temporary Closure of WCS Finnart Street Campus, Greenock

The College’s Finnart Street Campus in Greenock will be temporarily closed with immediate effect due to a failure of the campus boiler system. Unfortunately, this issue means we are unable to provide adequate heating and hot water, and the campus cannot remain open while a temporary solution is installed and longer-term repairs begin.

Our estates team are working closely with external contractors to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. At this stage, we expect normal campus operations to resume at Finnart Street on Monday 26th January, and we will provide further updates should this re-opening timeline change.

We recognise that this closure will cause disruption, and we want to reassure you that wherever possible, teaching and learning will continue. To minimise the impact:

  • Classes will be relocated to alternative college campuses, such as Greenock’s Waterfront, where space allows, or
  • Delivered online via our usual digital platforms.
  • Professional service team members will be relocated as required.

Students and staff will receive course-specific information directly from sector teams, including details of any temporary changes to location or mode of delivery.

We apologise for the inconvenience this situation may cause and thank you for your understanding and flexibility while we address this essential repair. The safety, comfort, and wellbeing of our college community remains our priority.

If you have any immediate concerns, please contact your line manager.

Please continue to check emails, the college website and socials for further updates.
