New Vison for West College Scotland

West College Scotland is delighted to have launched ‘We Are West’ – Strategic Plan 2026- 2030, setting out a bold and ambitious direction for the years ahead. The plan places people, partnerships, and innovation at the heart of how the College will continue to transform lives and strengthen the regional economy.

The plan was unveiled during last week’s staff CPD days, where Principal and Chief Executive, Anne Campbell, outlined a clear and ambitious vision for the next four years. Bringing together colleagues from every department, the event created space to learn, connect, share practice, and explore how the College will continue to drive positive change.

During the launch, staff were guided through the College’s core values — People‑centred, Trustworthy, Respectful, Innovative. These values shape the College’s commitment to supporting learners, empowering staff, and working closely with partners and industry to deliver meaningful impact.

At the heart of We Are West is the College’s mission: Empowering people and communities to thrive. The plan sets out four strategic themes which will drive this mission forward.

  • Our People — nurturing talent, supporting wellbeing, and enabling staff and learners to thrive
  • Our Partnerships — strengthening collaboration with employers, communities, and stakeholders to widen opportunity.
  • Our Place — enhancing campuses, digital environments, and community presence to create inspiring spaces for learning.
  • Our Performance — ensuring high-quality learning, strong outcomes, and a culture of continuous improvement.

The strategic plan recognises the rapidly changing world in which learners and employers operate. It commits the College to embracing innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity as the foundations of progress.

We Are West marks a significant milestone for the College — a collective commitment to shaping a brighter future for learners, staff, and the wider region. As the plan moves into implementation, every member of the College community will play a vital role in bringing its ambitions to life.
