Francesca Brennan, Scottish Labour’s candidate for the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections, was joined by Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP, Scottish Labour’s education spokesperson, on a visit to West College Scotland’s Greenock Campus on Monday morning to hear about the college’s ambitious new strategy.
The pair met with Anne Campbell, Principal and Chief Executive of West College Scotland, to discuss the strategy, and afterwards praised the college’s future ambitions for both the Greenock campus and the wider organisation. They welcomed the opportunities the college provides for the local community and even enjoyed firsthand the skills of hospitality students who are gearing up for the Christmas service.
Francesca Brennan and Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP also discussed the challenges facing the college sector, set against a backdrop of a 20% real-terms funding reduction since 2021–22, as highlighted by Audit Scotland.
