Freshers Events Bring Campuses to Life

The Students’ Association rolled out the red carpet for students last month, hosting a series of Freshers events across all three campuses to welcome new and returning students for the new academic year.

Designed to help students settle into college life, the events provided a fantastic opportunity for students to meet their peers, build new friendships, find out more about the support and services available to them, and connect with local organisations from the wider community.

There was plenty to see and do throughout the events, with a range of interactive activities and entertainment on offer. Popular attractions included a visit from Sense of Nature, who introduced students to a variety of animals, including snakes and geckos, while talented caricaturist Edd Travers delighted attendees with personalised drawings.

The Students’ Association also hosted a range of fun games and activities, including tombola-style prize giveaways where students had the chance to win exclusive Students’ Association merchandise.

Adding to the atmosphere was former music student Lauren O’Donoghue, who entertained the crowds with live performances, showcasing her vocals and guitar skills throughout the day.

The events were a great success, helping students feel part of the college community from the outset while highlighting the support, opportunities and experiences available to them throughout their studies.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended, as well as the Students’ Association team, performers, exhibitors and local organisations who helped make the events such a memorable start to the academic year.
