Creative Connection 2026

Creative Connection returned with a bang last week at Braehead, allowing our students to showcase their work in our live graded event.

First up was our Level 6 Makeup students, who each created a unique look within the avant garde/fantasy realm...

Taylor, styled by Wendy Hunt

Crossover from period past look evolving into a more modern avant garde 21st century look, using sustainable items and charity shop finds, which were repurposed to bring the total look together.

Ebony, styled by Merissa Cowan

Aquatic look resembling colours and shapes of the ocean.

Kaitlyn, styled by Eryn Ford

Showcasing warrior/goddess and the power within women as a whole.

Kelsi, styled by Amber Grievson

Using modern colour inspiration for avant garde makeup, incorporating cage/hair work to compliment modern fashion elements for 2026.

Next in line to showcase their talents was our HNC Fashion Makeup students...

Mischa, styled by Olivia Duddy

The inspiration behind this look came from Stella McCartney. As a mixture of active wear and night wear, this look provided colour and allowed Olivia to showcase her skills to their full advantage.

Beth, styled by Nicola Gillan

Beth's chosen brand is Fashion Nova, which is an American-based fashion company known for its ultra-fast fashion/trendy styles at affordable prices. The inspiration behind this look is due to the warmer weather fast approaching us; sunshine, flowers and warmth always bring happiness to people, and it gives the opportunity to incorporate a bit of advanced makeup application using 3D props and artificial flowers.

Claire, styled by Chelsea Lindie

This model was chosen for her mature skin and and hair length and colour .. the company represented is elf due to how versatile their products are. A great opportunity to show different ways you can use these products and show that having mature skin doesn’t mean you have to break the bank on big brands to get glowy soft skin - you can get this look for an affordable price and look just as amazing.

Nicola, styled by Alanna Speirs

This look is called new era and brings runway to Glam. The main focus in this look was to keep it in-line with Dior’s natural Glam but also add something different with the 2-toned lips.

Jennifer, styled by Abbie Thomas

This look was inspired by the underworld in 1920’s Pigalle, Paris and Kees van Dongen’s watercolour portrait “Portrait of a woman with a cigarette” which depicts Parisian muse Kiki de Montparnasse.

Veronica, styled by Tetiana Kotliarenko

This look is inspired by a glamorous and sophisticated evening style. The makeup features warm neutral tones, shimmer on the eyes and a flawless radiant skin finish. Full lashes and defined brows enhance the overall glamour, while nude lips balance the look. The overall appearance is elegant, polished and suitable for a live fashion event.

Emma, styled by Lois Hayes

Makeup by Mario is the inspiration, as Lois loves the brand as a whole and takes lots of inspiration from him when creating looks.

Madison, styled by Amanda Woods

This look is about showing that alternative makeup doesn't just have to be heavy black makeup and that it can actually have a little pop of colour.

Aris, styled by Kat Gibson

Citing Jean Paul Gaultier as the inspiration, Kat admits that she admires his work in fashion as he is known for his bold, creative and unconventional looks and fragrances. Kat created her own fashion design taken from Gaultier’s Le Male Le Bleu men's fragrance, to collaborate within Gaultier’s own fashion designs that she will showcase on the runway .

Thank you to our wonderful Makeup Artistry staff and students for putting on such an exciting event, and to Nick Peacock and Kiera Burns for the amazing images!
