Overview

What will I learn?

If you are interested in why people behave the way they do, let us help you grow your meta skills in the PDA Psychology to explore key topics in this contemporary, relevant curriculum.

From the origins of the major schools of thought and their key features and influences, you will progress to consider their legacy and ongoing relevance in society today. At its core, it is about understanding and evaluating explanations of human behaviour from a range of competing schools - and is therefore relevant across a range of careers where an understanding of people is important. This could be careers as diverse as public service, criminal justice, health, business and advertising.

What qualifications do I need?

Learners should possess good communication skills. Other knowledge, skills and experience relevant to the unit would be beneficial, such as, research skills.

The previous study of Psychology through units and National Qualifications at SCQF levels 5 or 6, or other similar qualifications, is desirable but not essential.
