Overview
What will I learn?
This January start course provides a quick route to HNC Social Sciences – learning a range of social sciences subjects at level 6 (Higher) such as:
- Politics
- Criminology
- Sociology
- History
- Local investigations
- Contemporary issues
- Communication
Access to the HNC social Science course is topped off with the successful completion of an online Prep for Higher Education course that develops study skills, academic writing, research skills.
What qualifications do I need?
Minimum requirements are 4 passes in English/ Sciences/ Arts, at National 5 level. Two of these passes should be at B level.
We will consider passes in subjects which have a substantial degree of written analysis and/ or statistical skills.
What can I do after?
Successful completion of this course can lead to transition onto our HNC Social Sciences programme or our Access to Humanities, Business and Law (for mature students). Alternatively, students can progress onto the NC Level 6 Social Sciences course.SCQF
6Programme Information
Start Date: w/b 22 January 2024
Duration: 18 weeks. The course will be delivered on campus with the occasional class being taught online.
Time: 9.00am-4.00pm
