What will I learn?

This advanced course is based upon professional training – you will work as a professional photographer. The course is based on self-devised projects and set challenge assignments. These will drive you forward technically and importantly creatively. We actively involve an exciting range of industry partners to support your learning.

The course has unique picture taking opportunities including fashion, sport, event and studio photography.

You will work towards a superb portfolio that will allow you to progress to either degree study or to self/employment in the creative industries.

You will master studio/location techniques/lighting and experiment in a wide range of genres and approaches

Subjects in the course include:

  • Advertising Photography
  • Fashion Photography
  • Photojournalism
  • Designing and producing your online identity as a photographer

The course is taught with energy, insight and care by the tutors who have a wealth of teaching and photographic experience.

What qualifications do I need?

To gain a place on this course you will need to have a pass in HNC Photography to match into this course of study. If you don’t have an HNC in Photography, consider applying – information is here on line.

We will also ask you to come and meet us either on line or in person to partner your ambitions to ours. At that point we will ask to see some of your photographic work.

What can I do after?

This advanced course offers unrivalled opportunities. The Work Placement aspect allows you to build your skills and CV in areas such as press, PR, Social, and the teaching of photography (these are only a few examples)

This course places you ideally to decide on your next stage after completing this HND programme.

Opportunities after completing the course would be directly into employment and or self-employment as a professional photographer.

Additionally, HND graduates often begin their life profession as a photographer using a ‘dual career model’ – ask us more about this.

Several graduates progress to degree study completing a BA in photography after a further year of study – we have superb links with these courses and advise you on these opportunities during the HND Photography year.
