What will I learn?

This course is ideal for those who have completed the Level 2 in Counselling Skills, as CPD to progress towards accredited counsellor status with one of the counselling professional accrediting bodies or for those wanting more knowledge about counselling skills or maybe considering a career in Counselling.

The demand for Counselling has increased dramatically recently. People may seek Counselling at different points in their lives for mental health, bereavement, past life events or to overcome trauma to name a few.

This course will help you to gain knowledge and understanding including units:

Developing Counselling Skills
Theoretical Approaches in the use of Counselling Skills
Working ethically with Counselling Skills
Counselling Skills and Diversity
Counselling Skills and Personal Development

This is a marked course which requires short essay style answers to allow your assigned marker to be able to identify that you have understood the skills and knowledge to meet the awarding body standards.

Part of this course also requires you to be either recorded on video carrying out counselling skills, or to be able to obtain a witness statement from someone in a counsellor role or that has counselling qualifications.

This is a fully online course, you will be emailed with a login to access the course and assessments.

What qualifications do I need?

Level 2 certificate in a related discipline. Once you have completed enrolment for this course please email proof of your level 2 certificate to onlinelearning@wcs.ac.uk

As this course is delivered online it would be beneficial if the candidate had basic competence in IT and the internet.

This course does not require a personal statement.

What can I do after?

This course provides progression to further Level 2 or 3 programmes. Professional Counselling Accredited courses.

Programme Information

Course Hours – 400

No of Weeks – 20

You could complete in 10 weeks or use the full 20 weeks- it's up to you.

Please be aware that you could be withdrawn from your course if submission dates are vastly overdue. If at any point you are struggling with deadlines you should contact us for an extension which we will assign where possible

On successful completion and confirmation from the awarding body you will receive your qualification e-certificate online which you can print and/or save for your records. Please note a fee may be required if a hard copy certificate is requested.

First assessment deadline is 26^th November if this is not submitted by 15^th December at the latest you will not be able to continue with the course

Course end date 24^th April
