What will I learn?
You'll learn about:
- Health and Safety Procedures
- Chair Side Support During Assessment and Dental Treatments
- Oral Health Provision
- Producing Dental X-rays
This course includes a work placement and a written exam in November, leading to a practical exam set by the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses (NEBDN). As part of the course you will have to complete an evidence-based portfolio with knowledge gained from work placement.
What qualifications do I need?
You'll need three passes at National 5, Intermediate 2 or Standard Grade, including English and Biology or another science. Mature students without qualifications may also be considered.What can I do after?
The course is aimed at people who want to continue their professional development in the dental field, and/or prepare for the NEBDN examination within 18 months.SCQF
