Year 2 of our Makeup Artistry Traineeship will complete your 2 year programme where you will enhance your current skills and move on to develop new skills within Makeup Artistry.
This one-year course provides you with a comprehensive set of skills gained from both Year 1 (Level 5) and Level 6, preparing you to progress into industry and work as a trainee within a makeup department.
The course ensures the delivery of the latest industry standards. With a wealth of experience our lecturers provide practical insights and knowledge to get you industry ready, embarking on a career as a MUA Trainee.
What will I learn?
You will learn a variety of practical skills which will be enhanced with knowledge and understanding of Products, techniques and up to date methods used within the Media MUP.
You will plan, research and design makeup looks for Period and Character productions including setting and styling hair to create total looks.
You will also study:
- Period and Character Postiche
- Production Study
- Textured Hair Maintenance andStyling
- Moulding and Prosthetics
What qualifications do I need?
You will be required to have completed Year 1 of the Traineeship or equivalent to allow you progress to Year 2, gaining all skills and knowledge in the subject.
Enthusiastic and a keen interest in media is essential
Industry experience working on set at assistant level within Makeup Artistry
All candidates must be 16 and over
What can I do after?
On completion of the Level 6 you can move into industry working as a Trainee Makeup Artist working within a Makeup Dept in Theatre, Film or TV.
