ACS Gas Core Safety and Appliances (Re-assessment) CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1

Course Aims

The Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) is the industry recognised and accepted route for experienced gas operatives to gain the certificate of competence needed to become a member of the Gas Safe Register. Alongside the CCN1 Core element, candidates will be assessed on the appliances they have previously held qualifications for, these could be any combination of the following:

  • CENWAT1 - Domestic Natural Gas Central Heating Boilers and Domestic Natural Gas Water
  • CKR1 - Domestic Natural Gas Cookers
  • HTR1- Domestic Natural Gas Fires 
  • MET2 - Domestic Natural Gas Meters

Throughout the course, training and assessment will cover a wide range elements within the Gas industry, including

  • Legislation and Gas Safety
  • Combustion Performance
  • Gas Rating and Heat Input
  • Pipework requirements
  • Safety Controls
  • Ventilation
  • Chimney Systems
  • Tightness Testing and Purging

Entry Requirement

You must hold a CCN1 Gas Core Safety and appliance competence Certificates or the equivalent. For the re-assessment route, your previous qualification must not have expired for more than 12 months.
