ACS Gas Appliance (Initial Assessment)

Course Aims

Operatives undertaking work on domestic gas fired appliances must hold the relevant qualifications to do so. These individual modules are for Gas engineers looking to extend their qualifications to enable them to work on a range of different gas fired appliances. The modules available are:

  • CKR1 - Domestic Natural Gas Cookers
  • HTR1- Domestic Natural Gas Fires 
  • MET2 - Domestic Natural Gas Meters
  • DAH1 – Warm Air Heaters

Throughout the course, training and assessment will cover a wide range elements relevant to gas fired appliances, these include:

  • Installation
  • Commissioning
  • Service and maintenance
  • Basic gas safety fault finding

Benefits of Attending

This course will ensure competence and compliance when working on gas fired appliances. 

Entry Requirement

Operatives must hold a current ACS Core (CCN1) Qualification.

For newly qualified operatives you must be Gas Safe Register and have held your CCN1 for 12 months to add additional appliances to your initial registration.

Exam

Practical assessment and multiple-choice theory assessment (all open book)

Duration: 1 day per appliance
