Course overview

What will I learn?

Aimed at those who are looking to pursue a career in biomedical science (or related health professions) this 17-week course covers physiology, microbes and infection, chemistry, medical physicals and working with data. You will also develop relevant practical skills and an understanding of safety in a laboratory.

What qualification do I need?

To join this course you should be able to demonstrate a passion for science as well as a willingness to learn.

For applicants where English is not the first language you will be required to provide evidence of ESOL at Level 5 Grade C or above (or equivalent).

What can I do after?

You can use this course as a stepping stone to further study here at West College Scotland by progressing to courses such as NQ Applied Science Level 5. Progression routes then exist through our courses all the way to degree level or to employment.
