Like the HNC, this course’s content reflects the industry lead training body Skillset’s professional standards. It will give you the opportunity to further develop the range of programme making skills required to be successful in the Television and Digital Film making industry.

What qualifications do I need?

You will need an HNC Television to apply for year 2 of the HND Television. All applicants will be interviewed, where you will be expected to show a genuine interest and passion for Film and Television. You’ll be expected to discuss and show examples of work you completed on your HNC Television such as your Graded Unit 1.

What can I do after?

Upon achieving your HND you will have the skills and knowledge to go into industry in a variety of craft roles such as camera, sound, editing etc. at assistant or trainee level.

Or you could develop you skills further and move on to another course, such as:

  • A degree level course in television and broadcasting; often gaining entry directly into year 3. Popular destinations include UWS, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Napier University. Other graduates opt to seek employment in the Broadcast Industry and Digital Film making sector
