What will I learn?

Are you looking for a new challenge or change in career? Have you considered working in a care environment?

This new and exciting course offers the opportunity for adults to learn about health and social care subjects. This course is ideal for those who wish to return to education. This course would lead to further study within the college and potential job opportunities within the care sector.

You’ll learn about:

  • Working in a Health and Social Care Setting
  • Care Principles and Practice
  • HIV, Hepatitis B & C
  • Working with Individuals with Additional Support Needs
  • Healthy Eating in a Care Setting
  • Improving Wellbeing
  • First Aid

What qualifications do I need?

There is no formal entry requirement, but you must have the ability to work towards SCQF level 6. For a place on the course, you will need to attend an interview, and provide a personal statement and two references.

What can I do after?

After successfully completing this course, you will have the knowledge and skills needed to apply for a caring role, or you could develop your skills further by studying another course, such as:

  • Care: level 5
  • Higher Health Care
  • Higher Social Care
