Electrical Installation (Building Services)

The Electrical Installation department at West College Scotland provides high-quality training for learners at every stage of their career, from entry-level study through to industry upskilling and professional development. Our programmes are designed in partnership with industry to ensure learners develop the knowledge, practical skills, and professional standards required to succeed in the electrical sector.

We work closely with the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECTT), supporting the delivery and development of Modern Apprenticeships. This strong partnership ensures that our apprentices receive high-quality off-the-job training aligned with current industry standards and employer expectations.

Our entry-level courses, including pre-apprenticeship programmes, provide an excellent foundation for learners looking to enter the industry, equipping them with core skills in safe working practices, installation techniques, and employability. For those already in employment, we offer a range of industry-recognised City & Guilds qualifications to support lifelong learning and career progression. These include the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Amendment 4), Inspection and Testing (2392), and Portable Appliance Testing (2377).

With modern facilities, experienced staff, and strong employer links, we support learners to progress confidently into apprenticeships, employment, and further study within the electrical and wider construction sectors.
