What will I learn?
This course is for learners who have an interest in Early Learning and Childcare. You will study a broad range of Early Learning and Childcare subjects. This course will assit you in considering career options within the sector and the skills, qualities and qualifications required to fulfil these roles. The course is taught using a variety of Learning & Teaching methods.
You'll learn about:
- Child Development and Health
- Play in Early Education and Childcare
- Working in Early Education and Childcare
- Children’s Rights
- Care and Feeding of Children
What qualifications do I need?
You must be capable of working at Level 5 and demonstrate an interest in children's learning and development. If you have successfully completed Skills for Work Childcare at SCQF level 4, your application will also be considered.
For a place on the course, you will need to submit a personal statement and attend an interview, bringing proof of your qualifications. You will also need to provide two references
You must be eligible to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
What can I do after?
After successfully completing this course, you will have the knowledge and skills needed to get a role a supporting role.
