From Novice to Expert: Elevate Your Facial Skills to Professional Excellence
What will I learn?
A professional certification for therapists who want to deliver expert-level results and stand out in a competitive industry, the course is designed to develop high-level clinical knowledge and practical expertise required for professional skin specialists working with complex conditions. You will undertake advanced skin analysis to accurately assess a wide range of skin types and concerns, supporting the creation of effective, results-driven treatment plans. The course incorporates treatments using salon professional brands, ensuring industry-relevant skills aligned with current product innovations.
You will gain in-depth experience in both manual and electrotherapy techniques, alongside advanced facial procedures such as microneedling and cosmetic peels, enabling them to deliver enhanced treatment outcomes safely and effectively. Emphasis is placed on product and ingredient knowledge, equipping learners with the scientific understanding needed to select and prescribe appropriate skincare solutions.
In addition, the course explores client retention strategies to support business growth and professional success, alongside a strong focus on safety, hygiene, and professional standards in line with industry best practice. Upon completion, you will be equipped with the advanced skills, confidence, and professionalism required to perform specialised facial treatments and deliver exceptional client care within a salon or clinical setting.
Products and tools required for the course will be provided for use during class sessions. There is no requirement to purchase your own equipment. However, if you would like to continue practising outside of class, we can recommend suppliers and assist you in sourcing your own products and tools.
What qualifications do I need?
There is no prerequisite skills however a previous facial therapy knowledge would be beneficial. This is a great way to build on your existing professional skills to upgrade to expert level.
Minimum age: 16* (*must turn 16 within 4 weeks of the course start date)
What can I do after?
Opportunities exist for progression onto SCQF Level 7 qualifications and/or for learners to establish themselves as independent practitioners within the beauty industry.
