What will I learn?

This qualification encompasses everything needed for a successful career within the ever-expanding and increasingly popular beauty sector. On successful completion of the HNC Beauty Therapy programme you can progress to HND Beauty Therapy. Our course is designed to offer you the skills, knowledge and understanding of a range of Beauty and Aesthetic therapies. You will be trained using leading product and beauty innovations from a wide range of brand partnerships including Caci, Spa Finders, Dermalogica, Mylash, CND, Louella belle and Ellisons.

You'll learn about:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Facial Therapy Treatments (Using Dermalogica techniques to complete skin analysis and facial mapping to offer prescription facials)
  • Face and Body Electro Therapy (using the most innovative technology)
  • Face and Body Treatment Packages (Using advanced products and techniques to create bespoke enhanced treatments)
  • Product knowledge
  • Professional Salon Skills
  • Spa treatments (Body Exfoliation and Mud Wraps)
  • Beauty Therapy: Graded Unit 1

Options chosen from:

  • Eyelash enhancements (classic lash extensions)
  • Contemporary Aesthetic treatments (includes any treatment in trend i.e. Lash lift, Brow lamination, Russian lashes, glycolic peel)
  • Eyebrow Artistry (latest techniques to colour, sculpt and correct the brows using precision waxing technique)
  • Nail enhancements (Liquid and Powder or light curing gel)
  • Work experience opportunities within prestigious salons and spa’s are included as part of this course.

    What qualifications do I need?

    You'll have completed NC Beauty Therapy (SCQF level 6) or equivalent and show you have a passion for the Beauty Therapy Industry and motivated to learn new skills.

    A successful interview will be required before a place is offered on the course. N.B. - A direct entry pathway may be considered on and Individual basis

    What can I do after?

    After successfully completing this course you could develop your skills further by progressing on to HND Beauty therapy or you'll have the Beauty skills to work as a Beauty therapist in a salon, Spa, hotel, Aesthetic clinics or as a self-employed therapist.

    To create work placement and employment opportunities West College Scotland work in partnership with prestigious Aesthetic clinics, Salons and Spa’s and currently have alumni working at The Spa at Blythswood Square, Marhall and The Carrick at Cameron House.
