The College are excited to launch a pioneering new academy with with James Paterson and Sons focusing on Plumbing and Heating apprenticeship skills. Responsible for extensive works across the central belt alongside some of Scotland’s largest house builders including Cala, Miller and Taylor Wimpey, James Paterson & Sons is dedicated to creating a skilled workforce for the future.
The Academy will give local people the opportunity to gain live industry experience with James Paterson & Sons covering all areas of plumbing and heating works within new house building alongside learning important skills and knowledge at College to help prepare for a Plumbing and Heating apprenticeship.
Starting this January at our Greenock campus, West College Scotland will deliver this exclusively designed 18 week course where students will cover learning in a range of subjects from Health and Safety to Central Heating Systems.
On completion, James Paterson & Sons will be offering the opportunity to apply for an apprenticeship with the company. Dr Lee Coutts, Assistant Principal Technology & Skills at West College Scotland said,
