Coronavirus Announcement 820x410px 211220.jpg

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has recently announced that Scotland will significantly tighten Covid-19 measures to prevent the spread of a new, highly contagious strain of the virus before and into the New Year. Including:

  • All of mainland Scotland will be placed in Level 4 from 26 December, with restrictions being reviewed two weeks later
  • Travel across Level 4 local authority boundaries will not be legal other than for exempt purposes
  • Schools will return on 11 January, but will remain online until at least 18 January

The College will return for online and limited on-campus teaching and learning from 6 January, unless advised otherwise by the Scottish Government.

Our campuses in Clydebank, Greenock and Paisley will reopen for the limited number of staff and students who will be undertaking essential on campus work or learning. The vast majority of staff and students will continue their work and studies online.

For those who will not be working or learning remotely, travel to and from the College is an essential reason and is therefore within the rules. When using public transport, please ensure you wear a face covering and follow Transport Scotland's guidance.

When our campuses reopen in the New Year, students should only attend a campus if they have been advised to by a member of staff or they have booked a study space in one of our libraries.

Our campuses will be in Level 4 areas and all staff and students should therefore wear face coverings in all indoor learning and teaching settings, even where social distancing can be maintained, in line with new government guidance

It is our expectation at this time that our School-College Partnership courses will not be delivered on-campus before 18 January and, instead, we will be supporting pupils to undertake online learning where this is possible.

Through and out of the Coronavirus crisis, the College will follow government guidance and key public health measures will be in place throughout our campuses to stop the spread of the virus. Please adhere to the rules on campus and, wherever you are, remember FACTs:

  • Face coverings
  • Avoid crowded places
  • Clean your hands regularly
  • Two-metre distance
  • Self-isolate and book a test if you have symptoms

Thank you for adhering to the rules, suppressing Coronavirus and protecting our College community through these difficult times. In the meantime, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
