Wendy brings more than 29 years of experience in Scotland’s further education sector. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Integrative Healthcare, a Teaching Qualification in Further Education (TQFE), and a Diploma in Leadership and Management from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). She also contributes to sector-wide professional learning as a Co-Tutor with the University of Aberdeen, supporting the TQFE programme.
Wendy began her career as a part-time lecturer at Clydebank College before moving into a full-time lecturing role at Reid Kerr College. Following the creation of West College Scotland, she was appointed Curriculum and Quality Leader (CQL) and later progressed to Head of Sector. She now serves as Assistant Principal.
She has led a range of strategic, college-wide projects, including a notable partnership with the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Under her leadership, staff and students delivered pre- and post-competition treatments within the Athletes’ Village—an experience she describes as a privilege and a defining opportunity for student development.
Wendy represents the college on the NHS Golden Jubilee Anchor Strategic Advisory Group and is the institutional lead for the Scottish Tertiary Enhancement Project (STEP/QAA). She also contributes actively to several Communities of Practice across the tertiary sector, particularly in Health and Social Care and in Teaching and Learning.
Committed to fostering quality, innovation and excellence, Wendy is passionate about supporting colleagues to deliver an outstanding learning experience and empowering students to achieve their full potential.
