Content

This course is designed to enable Health and Social Care staff to develop their knowledge and understanding of palliative and end of life care.

The course will cover the following areas:

  • The palliative care approach and role of the hospice
    • What is palliative and end of life care?
    • Early identification of people who can benefit from palliative care
  • Practical care and support
    • Communication
    • Person-centred care and what matters to me
    • Introduction to symptom control
    • Specialist care and support

 

 

Duration

Half day Bespoke delivery of the course can be provided for organisations with sufficient staff. Dates, times and content can be negotiated to suit specific teams.

Price

These courses are most suitable for groups and number dependent group rates apply. Individuals may occasionally join onto a group and an incremental price will apply to that individual.
