Overview

What will I learn?

Where do we start with the History PDA?

An enthralling curriculum for anyone interested in how the past can influence both the present and the future. You will develop your skills in analysing and interpreting sources, weighing up competing arguments and coming to a measured conclusion.

You will study one of the most impactful events of the 20th Century – The Russian Revolution and the Russian Civil War which followed it. You will then study Irish History, looking at Ireland from the Act of Union to the partition of Ireland. The final part of the course will look at the Troubles in Northern Ireland from 1969 – 1998.

What qualifications do I need?

Learners should possess good communication skills. Other knowledge, skills and experience relevant to the unit would be beneficial, such as, research skills.

The previous study of History through units and National Qualifications at SCQF level 6, or other similar qualifications, is desirable but not essential
