WEST College Scotland staff have been building more than bridges as they work with partners from Vietnam’s Dong Nai province.

West College Scotland have been working with Lilama2 Technical College in Vietnam’s Dong Nai province for over 6 years, delivering training to support the area’s workforce. As the area builds a new international airport, the College is ensuring the skills are available so that the airport has the qualified staff it needs.

The College recently hosted Vietnamese partners and dignitaries, including the Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee. Visitors were impressed by each of our campuses, particularly enjoying a Scottish-themed lunch prepared by Greenock students.

Dr Hien, Rector of Lilama2, was happy to build on our already strong relationship.

“We have a long established partnership with West College Scotland and we could see the pride students took in their work, particularly in providing Scottish hospitality.”

Sara Rae, Director of Business and Enterprise, used the opportunity to plan for the future.

“We were delighted to welcome representatives from Dong Nai Province to the College, particularly as for some it was their first trip to Scotland and the UK.  The visit allowed staff to work with international partners and we have signed a Memorandum of Agreement outlining the next steps in our successful partnership.”

With such partnerships the College is building a strong reputation even beyond Scotland, ensuring our continued success, and providing opportunities for staff and students.
