Course Overview

Content

This 1-day course will provide you with knowledge and practical experience of the following:

  • The role of the first aider
  • Accident and Incident reporting; first aid box
  • Resuscitation procedures and managing an unconscious casualty
  • Primary and secondary survey
  • Basic Life Support and demonstration of AED
  • Choking
  • Recovery position
  • Control and Management of common health emergencies including:
  • Heart Attack, Angina,
  • Wounds and Bleeding,
  • Haemorrhagic and anaphylactic shock
  • Burns/Scalds,
  • Fractures / Head and Spinal Injuries
  • Diabetes, Epilepsy, Meningitis

Practical bandaging session including slings
