Course Aims

Maintain your tester status by completing your annual CPD requirement
Corporate Professional Development (CPD) course – City & Guilds 3428-04 Private passenger and light commercial vehicles (classes 3,4,5 and 7) – MOT annual assessment.

Benefits of Attending

All testers must pass an MOT annual assessment between April and March the following year. Failure to successfully complete this annual assessment may lead to disciplinary action against the individual tester which may then lead to their authorised tester status being withdrawn.

Outline of Programme

The CPD syllabus for each year is set by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). The 2016 to 2017 MOT annual training syllabus for classes 3, 4, 5 and 7 vehicles covers:

  • Section 08 Drivers View of the Road from the MOT Inspection Manual
  • Section 01 Lamp, Reflectors and Electrical Equipment from the MOT Inspection Manual
  • CPD planning and recording
  • Special Notices
  • MOT Inspection General Standards and Procedures (Introduction and Sections 1 – 9)

This MOT annual assessment was developed with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

3 hours credit towards your annual CPD Training requirement.

How much does the course cost?    

£45

Where will it take place?

At the campus nearest to you: Clydebank, Greenock or Paisley.

How long will it last?

A maximum of three hours.
