LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!

Kane Hinchcliffe wants to work in the media.  He'd love to get a job as a Camera Assistant and work his way up from there.  Here's Kane's story about how West College Scotland is helping him meet his ambitions.

I've always loved the idea of working in TV or film and, having done a bit of stage work, I decided to enrol in the NCLP (New College Learning Programme) Creative Industries and Media course.

This was a short course, lasting jus sixteen weeks. I thought there was no harm in giving it a go to see where it would lead.

It was one of the best decisons I've made. It gave me a taste of College life as well as a real insight into the media industry. I loved the course, especially the camera work.

So, I decided to carry on studying and gain further qualifications.

"I'd recommend these courses to anyone interested in the media or creative industries. West College Scotland really has helped me do something I always wanted to do."

I’m now studying NC (National Certificate) Media here at West College Scotland and I thoroughly enjoy it. The course can be challenging, but completing the short course first has made the transition to NC much smoother.

I’ve just applied for HNC Creative Industries with the hope of going on to do my HND.

I'd recommend these courses to anyone interested in the media or creative industries.  West College Scotland really has helped me do something I always wanted to do.
