What will I learn?

Mental Health has been in the news a lot and how we can learn to support our children and young people. This course allows you to develop your knowledge. This qualification aims to equip you with a more detailed understanding of mental health conditions that affect children and young people, the legislation and guidance surrounding mental health, risk factors that may affect mental well-being and the impact that mental health concerns may have on young people and others.

Some topics covered in this course are:

Understand children and young people’s mental health in context
Understand factors which may affect children and young people’s mental health
Understand children and young people’s mental health concerns
Understand how to support children and young people with mental health concerns

This is a marked course which requires short essay style answers to allow your assigned marker to be able to identify that you have understood the skills and knowledge to meet the awarding body standards.

This is an online course with online learning materials and assessments, you will be emailed with a login to access the course

What qualifications do I need?

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, as it is delivered part online it would be beneficial if the candidate had basic competence in IT and the internet.

This course does not require a personal statement.

What can I do after?

This course provides progression to further Level 2 programmes. It is also a good starting point for those individuals who are interested in entering a career in childcare or health and social care areas.
