What will I learn?
There are many factors that can impact on children and young people at different stages of their development. It is important to understand what these factors are, as well as the ways in which children and young people’s development can be enhanced through activity and interaction.
Throughout this qualification, you will explore how children’s development can be influenced by factors such as nutrition, and gain an understanding of the various safeguarding responsibilities of those who care for children and young people. You will also discover the importance of activities, play and interaction, and learn how to contribute positively to the development of children and young people at different stages.

- Young children’s development
- Importance of play for early learning
- Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
This is a marked course which requires short essay style answers to allow your assigned marker to be able to identify that you have understood the skills and knowledge to meet the awarding body standards. The awarding body for this course is NCFE.
For this course you will receive hard copy learning materials. The Assessments for the course are based online and access will be given to complete them.
What qualifications do I need?
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however, as it is part online it would be beneficial if the candidate had basic competence in IT and the internet.
This course does not require a personal statement.
What can I do after?
This course provides progression to further Level 2 programmes. It is also a good starting point for those individuals who are interested in entering a career in the healthcare sector.
