Overview
What will I learn?
This course will help you to prepare for the SQA Higher English exam.
The Higher English Course includes the study of plays, poetry, short stories and novels as well as the writing of personal, discursive and critical essays. The course also develops your listening and talking skills.
The Higher English course is aimed at those leaving school and needing additional qualifications - or higher grades; those seeking qualifications for entry to higher education programmes; individuals planning a return to study or looking at a change of career; and anyone simply wanting to develop their interest in literature and language.
What qualifications do I need?
Minimum entry criteria: passes in English at National 5, Standard Grade Level 1 or 2; or Intermediate 2 A or B.
We very much welcome applications based on other appropriate qualifications eg HNC/D, or other life and work experience.
What can I do after?
Students who are successful on this programme may be able to progress to: HNC/HND, University or Postgraduate Courses such as Teaching Training.SCQF
