Overview

What will I learn?

This course introduces to the major concepts in games development. Students will use industry standard software (including Adobe suite, Unity and Unreal Engine).  At Paisley, students get to work on a live game project with local primary schools.

You'll learn about:

  • Games Programming
  • Creating Graphics for Games
  • Game Interface Design
  • 2D Animation for Games
  • Game Technology
  • 3D Level Editing

What qualifications do I need?

You'll need one Higher at Grade C or above, preferably in Maths or Computer Science or an NC in a computing related subject, for example NC Software and Web Development, NC Games Development or NC Cyber Security. An NPA in Computer Games Development at level 5 or 6 can support your application, although may not be enough on its own.

If you don't have any formal qualifications, but can demonstrate relevant computer games design and programming knowledge and skills, you can also apply.

What can I do after?

After successfully completing this course you'll have the skills needed to get an entry level role in the computing and computer games industry.
